OMG I purchased this lens on e-Bay new for $199.00 ("Buy it Now"). It arrived today. This is one light weight and incredibly sharp lens. Also, the image colors are vivid and true. With the IMAGE STABILIZER engaged I can get super sharp images at 250mm, with lens wide open, and the shutter speed at 1/30th of a second. And I'm a 71 year old man.

I bought this for my daughter who is a film student and semi-professional photographer. This is definitely not bad for what you pay for. The only thing is I would suggest getting larger backdrops, the ones provided are fairly small, but not a big deal, specially if you are just doing portraits. The flourescents that come with the umbrellas are nice but not very bright, so depends on what type of shots you want to take of course whether you will find them useful or not. Overall though not a bad product, quick delivery, very satisfied.

first, get yourself a 40 inch long, 1 inch wide webbing lashing strap, with a quick release buckle on the end. should be about 2 bucks. use that to wrap the bag through the lashing anchors on the sides of the bag. this acts as a very good compression strap, and gives you an added measure of security. close the bag with the zippers below the strap, and it's harder for would be thieves to open your bag while you are carrying it. it also allows you to open the top half of the bag, and grab your camera without letting the other contents of the bag fall out. since the top of the backpack is cut inwards, the camera is fairly easy to grab for those quick shots. not as fast as a messenger bag, but better than having to put your bag on the ground to get your camera out.

My only complaint is that the lens holders (see photos) are all open, meaning that it is very easy for the lenses to slip out of position or, if you open the bag the wrong way, fall out or slip. This happened to me a number of times on a recent trip. It would be nice if Canon provided extra elastic/velcro strips, like the one used for the main compartment, to hold the lenses in place.

This small camera worked great out of the box. I set it up in our vacation cabin and it gives a nice view of the whole room. I connected it to an inexpensive video capture card and will be able to access it via [...] via the internet (we have Hughes Satellite internet). I will be able to check the cabin from home to make sure that everything is alright. I may purchase more of these to put at the front door and other locations. For the money you can't beat this camera. I'm not sure how well it will work out for an outdoor location, but I am pleased with the indoor picture-it looks much like a picture that you see from security cameras, certainly not high resolution, but for money I don't think you will find a better bargain.

First off, let me tell you that this lens only works fully with the latest Nikon SLRs because it has no aperture ring to set f/stops. You must do that electronically using a D100, D2H, D70, N80, N75, F5 or F100. However, Nikon does provide a nice compatibility chart telling you how to use this lens on older Nikon cameras. So you can use this lens on S and P modes with the N90s, N8008s, N 6000, and N4004. This backward compatibility of lenses and bodies is one of the strongest points of the Nikon system. Even a 24 year old lens can be used with a new Digital SLR, to some extent.

I had the 55-200mm non VR version for about 5 months, sold it to essentally recover my cost, and bought the VR version as a replacement. The non VR version was very compact and light, and produced excellent photos, but the slightly larger VR version is so much more usable I don't miss the other lens at all. The VR works as advertised and allows me to take pictures at 3 times or more lower shutter speeds than the non VR version. While I would love the 18-200mm VR for the convenience, I will never be able to justify the $750 price, so my 18-55mm kit lens and this lens will likely cover my needs as long as I own my camera. I also seriously considered the 70-300mm VR, but couldn't accept twice the price for only 50% more reach. And at twice the length of the 55-200mm non VR version, it would be too awkward for me to carry around. I am very satisfied with this 55-200mm VR lens and if you are considering it, please give it a try. You will not be dissapointed.

My good old point-and-shoot camera (one of the Canon PowerShot series) had served me faithfully, but I was growing frustrated with its limitations. It seemed SO slow -- I was always missing great shots of my kids. The low-light performance was not particularly good. And I knew if I ever wanted to take more than basic family snapshots, I was going to need to bite the bullet and buy a DSLR. But they seemed so intimidating!

After doing a ton of research online and trying out my sister-in-law's slightly older Nikon D40, I settled on the new D3000. And I love it! It really is easier to use than I could've imagined, and the shots I've gotten so far are amazing. I have no photographic training, but I am really delighted with the pictures I've been getting so far. I never could have imagined there would be SUCH a huge difference. I've actually gotten -sharp- pictures of my toddler in motion, rather than just kid-shaped blurs! I took it to a local park last night for a couple hours and took some really nice photos there, too.

I am very pleased with this bag. It is a perfect fit for my Canon EOS 20D camera body and two lenses plus flash unit. Plus, there is room for another lens (a soon to be added zoom lens). Plenty of compartments and zippered pockets around the perimeter for carrying accessories. It even has a strap on the bottom for carrying a tripod. The bag is lightweight, water repellant, and has the interchangeable dividers so you can arrange the interior contents into any configuration you like. It is a basic camera bag but has sufficient pockets to accommodate accessories like spare batteries, cords, chargers, memory cards etc. The interior is protective enough for the camera body. I want to preface this review with a comment. If you are expecting that this camera is going to put out High Definition quality videos and be amazing in low light situations, then you're looking at the wrong camera. In fact, MOST cameras will have difficulties in low light situations. The camera was not designed for HD, obviously, so that expectation should go out the window.

Overall, the camera is great. Purchased for $165 from Amazon's website at the end of March 2010. The camera has excellent zoom and picks up sound very well. The reason that the camera was purchased was to capture golf shots between friends. It's very lightweight and easily fits within the compartments of our golf carts/bags. It's still a bit big to fit into my pants to the point where I feel comfortable taking a golf shot. Don't get me wrong, it is still small and CAN fit into your pant pockets. I just don't like the feel of it when I take golf shots.

I just bought this camera to replace my old Hitachi camcorder and this camera is awesome. The video quality is great the sound is excellent and it is Mac compatible for those who may be wondering it will work on imovie. But this camera is lightweight and the discs do not need to be finalized before you put them in a dvd player or import them to a computer, you just hook up the usb cord and import the video quick and easy. It does come with it's own software that is only compatible with windows which I dont have so I dont know if its any good.
But so far I am very pleased with this camera perfect for anyone who loves to film themselves and edit the footage. Really good buy for a great price.
